Grainger David's thesis film THE CHAIR was the only American short to screen In Competition for the Palme d’Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. THE CHAIR also won the Jury Prize at South by Southwest and went on to screen at festivals around the world. He is currently at work on a feature script with support from the San Francisco Film Society, and is in post-production on a new short, THE EDGE OF THE WOODS, funded by the South Carolina Film Commission and starring Kiernan Shipka (MAD MEN) and featuring Visual Effects by Framestore (GRAVITY). Grainger was born in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up there and on Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina. He is a graduate of Princeton University and NYU Grad Film and is represented at William Morris Endeavor.
